LinkUp Terms of Service

The agreement everyone accepts when creating a LinkUp account.

Effective Date: October 25, 2026

Please read this agreement carefully before using LinkUp.

By creating a LinkUp account, you acknowledge that LinkUp helps people discover activities, coordinate plans, communicate with groups, and arrange in-person meetups. You understand that using the platform involves certain risks, that you have responsibilities when interacting with other users, and that you must follow the community rules in Part 2.

Part 1 — Terms of Service

A. Purpose of LinkUp

LinkUp is designed to help people connect with friends and family, discover activities, and organize enjoyable group hangouts. Users are expected to treat others with respect, act responsibly, follow applicable laws, and help create a safe and welcoming environment.

LinkUp provides planning, discovery, and communication tools. LinkUp does not organize, host, sponsor, or supervise any activity or meetup. Users organize, invite others to, and attend activities on their own behalf and at their own responsibility. Nothing in these terms makes LinkUp a party to any plan created by users.

B. Assumption of Risk and In-Person Meetups

LinkUp helps users discover places and coordinate meetups, but it does not control every activity, location, business, or person encountered during a meetup.

In-person activities may involve risks, including personal injury, illness, accidents, theft, property damage, transportation risks, or interactions with other individuals.

You are responsible for evaluating the risks of each activity, choosing whether to participate, following applicable laws and venue rules, and making decisions about your personal safety.

LinkUp suggestions are intended to help users discover activities. They are not guarantees that a venue, activity, or meeting is safe or suitable for every person.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you voluntarily assume the ordinary and reasonably foreseeable risks associated with your participation in activities and meetups arranged through LinkUp.

This provision does not waive or exclude liability that cannot legally be waived, including any liability that applicable law requires LinkUp to retain.

C. Paid Features, Subscriptions, Trials, and Refunds

Certain LinkUp features may require payment or a subscription.

By purchasing a paid plan, you agree to the price, billing frequency, renewal conditions, and cancellation terms disclosed at checkout and in the app before you confirm payment.

Free trials automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial expires. You can cancel anytime.

No refunds are available for subscription payments, including payments made after your free trial ends, except where required by applicable law.

This agreement does not remove any refund, cancellation, chargeback, or other consumer rights that apply under applicable law or the applicable purchase terms. LinkUp will handle subscription cancellations, refunds, and service-related disputes in accordance with its disclosed policies and applicable law.

D. Third-Party Places, Services, and Information

LinkUp may display recommendations, business listings, ratings, prices, opening hours, weather information, maps, user-submitted content, and other information provided by third parties or other users.

LinkUp cannot guarantee that all third-party information or user-submitted content is accurate, complete, or up to date. You should verify important information directly with the relevant business or service provider before making plans.

Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, fees, and requirements. Your use of third-party services is between you and that provider.

E. App Availability, Technical Problems, and Service Interruptions

LinkUp is provided on an as-available basis, subject to the warranties and consumer rights that apply under applicable law.

The app may experience maintenance periods, technical problems, server outages, data synchronization failures, bugs, interruptions, or temporary or permanent discontinuation.

LinkUp does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every feature will always work without errors.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, LinkUp is not responsible for losses resulting solely from interruptions or technical failures outside its reasonable control.

LinkUp will use reasonable efforts to address significant service problems and protect user data as required by applicable law.

F. Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Disputes

To the extent permitted by applicable law, LinkUp and its owners, operators, employees, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, LinkUp is not responsible for the independent conduct of other users, third-party businesses, venues, transportation providers, or event organizers, or for incidents outside its reasonable control.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the platform is provided without warranties beyond any that cannot legally be excluded, and you agree to indemnify LinkUp against claims arising from your violation of these terms, applicable law, or the rights of others.

If a dispute arises, the parties should first attempt to resolve it informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled through the dispute resolution process required by applicable law, which may include arbitration or court proceedings as determined by that law.

Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence where such exclusion is prohibited, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising legal rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.

G. Privacy and Personal Information

LinkUp handles your personal information as described in the LinkUp Privacy Policy, which is part of these legal documents. In short, the information you provide (such as your account details, profile, and preferences) is used to operate the app and its features, and you control much of what other users can see through your privacy settings.

You may have rights under applicable data protection laws, including rights to access, correct, or delete your information and to object to certain processing. You can request account deletion from your Profile settings.

H. Updates to These Legal Documents

LinkUp may update these documents from time to time. When a revision is material, LinkUp will notify users through the app and update the effective date shown above.

Material changes may require you to review and accept the updated version before you can continue using the app. Your acceptance history, including the versions you accepted and when, is retained for record-keeping purposes.

If you do not accept an updated version, you may stop using the app. Continuing to use LinkUp after notice of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated documents where permitted by applicable law, without prejudice to rights that law does not allow to be affected this way.

These rules keep LinkUp positive and safe. They apply everywhere in the app, including profiles, messages, group chats, votes, suggestions, and hangouts planned through LinkUp. Violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, account suspension, or permanent removal.

  • Sexual activity involving anyone who cannot legally consent is prohibited.
  • Sexual exploitation, grooming, and sexual abuse of minors are strictly prohibited.
  • Users must respect other people’s personal boundaries and immediately stop any unwanted behavior.

Reports of sexual misconduct will be taken seriously and may result in immediate account suspension or removal, as appropriate.

Threats of violence, hate-based harassment, blackmail, doxxing, and deliberate intimidation are prohibited.

Users must communicate respectfully in profiles, private messages, group chats, votes, and activity suggestions. Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Sharing another person’s private information, images, or messages without appropriate permission.
  • Using LinkUp to exploit, manipulate, or intentionally endanger other users.

6. Safe Hangouts and Personal Responsibility

  • Users are responsible for making sensible decisions when arranging and attending hangouts.
  • Meet in appropriate, safe locations and use reasonable precautions when meeting others.
  • Respect each person’s right to decline an invitation, leave a hangout, or change their mind.
  • Do not pressure anyone to attend an activity or remain in an uncomfortable situation.
  • Do not share another person’s location or personal details without permission.
  • Contact local emergency services if someone faces immediate danger.

LinkUp suggestions are intended to help users discover activities. They are not guarantees that a venue, activity, or meeting is safe or suitable for every person.

7. Reporting and Enforcement

LinkUp provides ways to report dangerous behavior, harassment, sexual misconduct, illegal activity, and other violations, including by contacting our support team from the app.

When LinkUp receives a report, it may review the available information and take action it considers appropriate, which can include removing content, restricting features, suspending accounts, or permanently terminating accounts. Serious allegations may be referred to relevant authorities where appropriate or legally required.

LinkUp cannot promise absolute confidentiality or a specific investigation outcome, and cannot provide legal, medical, or safety advice. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services first.
